I thought I'd have a scout around for a Christmassy photo, but didn't hold out much hope. But then I came across the image below on a blog: http://spitalfieldslife.com/2009/12/25/greetings-from-spitalfields/
If you have a few hours to while away over the holiday, you could do a lot worse than take a peek at this fabulous website. Spitalfields Life explores as diverse subjects as religion, night life, cats (a particular favourite of mine; I have four) and crime, in the East End of London. There are lots of great photos. My congratulations to The Gentle Author for such a fantastic project, and thank you for letting me use the photo below.
Merry Christmas to everyone who visits Mate Sound the Pump. Who knows what plaques will turn up in 2013!

Appeal for a photo
I came across the image below while searching the internet. I'd love a good photo of the circular verse plaque, which appears to be by C.C.& Co. They came up for auction in the UK on November 2004. If you own one like it, please get in touch!
Stephen Smith lives in London, and is always happy to hear from other collectors. If you have an interesting collection of plaques, and are based in the UK, he will photograph them for you. Free advice given regarding selling and dispersal of a collection, or to those wishing to start one. Just get in touch...
